Utopia 2015

Capitalism is always evaluated against dreams. Utopia is a dream, it doesn't exist.

-Rush Limbaugh

In an attempt to create a Utopia, we will create a dystopia".

-Unknown

I chose this quote because if everyone imagined their own utopia, that would mean that about 7 billion people each had their own beliefs and thoughts. Due to the diversity of the societies, races and religions as well as one's exposure to specific topics that are banned in particular parts of the world, its possible that one's utopia may contradict another's which may cause conflict. Conflicts are the root to dystopia due to contradicting beliefs, with conflict on the inside of the world, layered on top is all the good which is the definition of dystopia; a world filled with bad, but layered with the good.

"Think of it. We are blessed with technology that would be indescribable to our forefathers. We have the wherewithal, the know-it-all to feed everybody, clothe everybody, and give every human on Earth a chance. We know now what we could never have known before -- that we now have the option for all humanity to make it successfully on this planet in this lifetime. Whether it is to be Utopia or Oblivion will be a touch-and-go relay race right up to the final moment."

R. BUCKMINSTER FULLER, Critical Path

“Utopia is the process of making a better world, the name for one path history can take, a dynamic, tumultuous, agonizing process, with no end. Struggle forever.”
― Kin Stanley Robinson

"The biggest threat to a better life is the desire to keep the future under control - to make the world predictable by reining in creativity and enterprise. Progress as a neat blueprint, with no deviations and no surprise, may work in children's cartoons or utopian novels. But it's just a fantasy." - Virginia Postrel

Humans have this unattainable urge to want what we can't have, because they always want more and more; they are never satisfied with what they simply have. Therefore, if we were to live in a utopia, we wouldn't even be realizing it because we would be taking it for granted without realizing that we had something perfectly good right where we were. - Yoad

"Our life dreams the Utopia. Our death achieves the ideal." -Victor Hugo

A world full of love and peace where everyone is equal is a Utopia. In other words, it's a perfect world or a paradise. The problem is that us, humans, have different thoughts and it is because of that "problem" that we can't get to a Utopian society. In other words, as long that there is people in the world, there is going to be war and inequality because everyone is different!
